Our Story
Our Founder and Chief Storyteller, Gbenga Ogunjimi, created GO Global as a result of his personal experience with the power of storytelling. As a young man in Nigeria, Gbenga was faced with the decision to choose a nonprofit or for-profit career path. At the height of this conundrum, he found a career coach who stated,
“Gbenga, if you want to make money and help people, you are a social entrepreneur.”
This was his first time hearing the term social entrepreneur and his first experience witnessing how one conversation can alter someone’s life and professional trajectory. Six months later, as a social entrepreneur, he won a life-changing global business plan competition that would ultimately lead him to America where he would start several international social ventures.
That experience opened Gbenga up to the power of storytelling, particularly, how by framing one’s professional narrative with the right language can profoundly impact the scale of their opportunities. Years later, Gbenga realized that many leaders struggle to find the right words to frame the business story that captures the many facets of what they do.
